They are trained in basic and advanced cardiac life support, neonatal resuscitation as well as advanced care of the trauma patient. Certified technicians are also available to perform x-rays, lab work and other important duties. These qualified individuals are available 24 hours/day to meet your emergent health care needs.

What About Visitors in the in the Emergency Department?
The number of visitors is kept to a minimum. This gives members of the emergency team sufficient space to perform their duties quickly, in this way, the needs of the patient can be properly met and privacy maintained. Every effort will be made to keep your loved ones informed.

Discharge and Follow-Up
When an individual is to be released from the Emergency Department, Discharge Orders are prepared by the emergency physician. The nurse will then carefully review these orders, as appropriate, with the patient, parent, legal guardian, and/or family member. We highly stress that it is the responsibility of the patient to thoroughly follow these Discharge Orders. This includes any follow-up care with your family physician, specialist, or clinic as indicated.

Telephone Calls
If you call the Emergency Department regarding an illness or injury, you will be informed that our team cannot give medical advice over the phone. The reason for this is that we cannot fully assess your condition over the phone.
