HealthLink, the BCH community outreach arm, has worked with Wynford's faculty and FFA program along with help from a number of local businesses to return this first-class event to the community. Breakout sessions include emergency extrication, chainsaw safety, and trauma scene safety; as well as safety summits being presented during the trade show in the gymnasium. A trauma reenactment of a farming accident and presentation on limb recovery Dr. Michael Ruff of the OSU Medical Center will highlight the day. If attending for the full day, up to five hours of continuing education units can be earned by EMS or nurse personnel.
Free and reduced price HealthLink Lab Profiles, a comprehensive blood panel, will be offered at Operation: FarmSafe beginning at 7. The Crawford County Farm Bureau will also be holding their annual 50 cent Farmer's Share Breakfast during the event. A free boxed lunch is also included for 500 participants.
Operation: FarmSafe is free of charge and registration is only necessary for those attending the extrication and Basic Life Support sessions. In addition to the blood work, a number of vendors will be have displays and all in attendance will be eligible for a variety of door prizes and may participate in a raffle for more prizes. The whole family will find something of value including children.
