Bucyrus Community Hospital Announces Interim Leadership
Bucyrus Community Hospital announces that it has ended its relationship with Gerard Klein, President and CEO for the past ten years. BCH has entered an interim management agreement with healthcare management firm, Quorum Health Resources.
Under the leadership of Klein, BCH was able to implement a number of community programs as well as complete a 72,000 square foot expansion and renovation of its building. While he will be missed, the Board of Directors felt this was the right time for a new direction.
According the BCH board chairman, Dr. Glen McMurray, “Jerry’s vision has been an asset to our organization for the past ten years. However, in light of pending healthcare reform and in order to set BCH up for a positive financial future, the Board of Directors felt a change was necessary going forward.”
The interim leadership team is Scott Landrum, interim CEO, and Dan Hamman, interim CFO. Originally from Paulding, Hamman returns to Ohio with over 30 years in healthcare finance. Most recently, he was the CFO of Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Landrum, originally from Kentucky, comes to Bucyrus having served as CEO in Arkansas and Texas hospitals over the past nine years.
Landrum and Hamman will analyze the operations of BCH and its physician group, Bucyrus Community Physicians, Inc., over the next few months, intending to position the hospital for a better financial outlook. The Board of Directors is confident that its services and facility will remain an integral part of the community and is excited to see a fresh perspective for the organization.
Bucyrus Community Hospital is an independent, not-for-profit, critical access hospital governed by a local, community-minded Board of Directors.
