Bucyrus Community Hospital
Auxiliary Donates Computers
- 7/23/2009

The Bucyrus Community Hospital (BCH) Auxiliary has provided nearly $800,000 to the hospital over the years since its inception in 1951. These selfless individuals organize a number of fundraisers during the year including bake sales, pie sales, the Snowflake Café, book sales, garage sales, uniform sales as well as wholly owning and operating the BCH Gift Shop. Everyone working in the Gift Shop is a volunteer; no one is a paid employee. The buyers, treasurers, and cashiers all donate their time each day as they have always done in the past. The net proceeds from all the Auxiliary fundraisers go directly to the hospital. Their faithful dedication to the hospital has provided countless pieces of medical equipment and hospital furnishings. Their patience and steadfast efforts, especially in this changing financial environment, are essential to the hospital’s success.

The BCH Auxiliary provided the hospital with $38,825 in February 2009 to purchase these computers, which replace the antiquated ones located throughout the building. The Auxiliary’s fundraising events include the elegant Christmas Gift Shop Show which is held each year on the first Friday in November; this year the Gift Shop Show is set for November 6.
